FULL UPDATE: RCMP provide new details on B.C. mass shooting

From CBC News.

RCMP officials have identified the suspect in the Tumbler Ridge, B.C., shooting as Jesse Van Rootselaar, 18. They took reporters’ questions in Surrey, B.C., on Wednesday, the day after a mass shooting left nine dead, including the suspect. Deputy Commissioner Dwayne McDonald said police had responded to Van Rootselaar’s home for mental health-related calls in the past and seized firearms, which were later returned.

Those found dead at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School were a 39-year-old female teacher, three 12-year-old girls and two boys — one 12 and one 13. The victims found at the Van Rootselaar family home were a 39-year-old woman and an 11-year-old boy, both related to the suspect.
