Heavy rainfall on the West Coast has led to significant flooding in British Columbia and Washington State. Several highways out of Vancouver are submerged and hundreds of property owners in the Fraser Valley have been ordered to evacuate. Officials report that the floodwaters have now peaked; however, more heavy rain is forecast. As Neetu Garcha reports, the Abbotsford mayor is now lashing out at the federal government.
Reactions are still coming in following Thursday’s major political news that another Conservative MP has switched parties to join the Liberals. Prime Minister Mark Carney is now just one seat away from achieving a coveted majority government. Mackenzie Gray has the details on the fallout.
The federal government has announced that the first phase of a high-speed rail project will connect Ottawa and Montreal. Construction is expected to begin in 2029. Once fully expanded, the rail line could transport passengers from Toronto to Montreal in under three hours. Jillian Piper reports.

High winds and heavy rains have caused chaos in the makeshift camps where thousands of people, who have lost their homes, are seeking shelter.
