Milano-Cortina’s opening ceremony took place in four locations tonight, setting the stage for a lot of excitement in winter sports over the next few weeks, on top of plenty of national pride, of course. Mike Armstrong has more.

What began as an investigation into trespassing at a University campus in London, Ont., has led to the arrest of four men accused of making bombs. Neighbours were forced out of their homes after police discovered chemicals and explosives at a nearby property. Police do not believe terrorism is involved, but as Touria Izri explains, a motive remains unclear.

A Canadian delegation including 19 members of the country’s Inuit community travelled to Nuuk, Greenland to celebrate the opening of Canada’s new embassy on Friday. A French embassy was also opened in the Danish territory. Both had been in the works well before U.S. President Donald Trump began making his threats. But as Heather Yourex-West explains, the show of diplomatic solidarity comes at a critical time.

In the U.S., there is outrage over a racist social media post by President Donald Trump. On Truth Social, Trump re-posted a short video mocking former U.S. president Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama, using a racist trope.
