One of Canada’s most decorated Olympians has received a temporary ban from competition imposed by the International Testing Agency. Penny Oleksiak, who has won seven Olympic medals in swimming, has accepted the suspension which goes until 2027. Although she has not tested positive for any banned substances, she failed to adhere to the strict rules of the anti-doping code, which require her to submit a specified number of filings and undergo tests within a 12-month period. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that he is ready to move forward with a U.S.-backed peace deal with Russia.
