President Donald Trump and War Secretary Pete Hegseth gave a report during the Dec. 2 Cabinet meeting as the military leader faces escalating criticism for strikes on alleged drug boats.
Hegseth and Trump both say they had "no idea" the second strike on an alleged Venezuelan drug boat occurred on Sept. 2. The War secretary continued that he did not personally see survivors in the footage of the second strike because of fire from the explosion. He dubbed this "the fog of war" and got angry with reporters for "not understanding."
Trump backed Hegseth, the strikes and even threatened future attacks on land.
