From AFP News Agency.
The killing of two protesters in Minneapolis, Minnesota, by US federal immigration agents galvanised protests in the city and changed the public mood across the country. Members of the local community are tracking agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ‘ICE’, as well as other federal migration agencies, in the hope of alerting migrants to their whereabouts and protecting fellow protesters. Meanwhile undocumented migrants are lying low, with US citizen volunteers delivering food to those who fear leaving their homes. Despite a recent climbdown by federal agencies, their agents are still at work in the city and arrests are being made.
