From Global News.
The U.S.-Israeli war with Iran entered its sixth day Thursday, with global citizens – including many from the U.S. and Canada – still stuck in the Middle East, where military strikes continue.
Since U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered strikes on Iran and killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, the nation’s death toll in Iran sits at roughly 1,100 officials say. Meanwhile, the Iranian military continues to strike in other Gulf Nations.
In Azerbaijan Thursday, a drone crashed near Nakhchivan’s airport, while another drone fell near a school, injuring two civilians. Azerbaijan officials have called it an attack, but Iran claims it hasn’t launched any drones toward the country.
And as Global’s Reggie Cecchini reports from Washington, D.C., the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) intends now to target vessels from the U.S., Israel and other ally nations.
Despite intensifying hostilities, members of the U.S. House Thursday will try to put Trump’s war powers in check – though it’s unclear if Republicans will vote in favour or stand in the way of this vote.
