From PBS NewsHour.
Iran on Sunday warned of retaliation if the United States or Israel use force to support anti-government protesters.
White House national security advisers are said to be weighing a broad range of potential responses to the regime’s bloody crackdown, including direct military strikes. President Donald Trump has said that he stands ready to help the protesters.
While numbers are hard to know with any certainty because Iran’s internet and phone service are blocked, a human rights watchdog group told the Associated Press that more than 500 people have been killed and 10,000 detained.
Iran’s top prosecutor has said rioters will be dealt with "without leniency, mercy or appeasement."
