An Iranian missile struck a residential area in Beit Shemesh on Sunday, killing at least nine people and wounding 28, according to Israel’s ambulance service.

Emergency crews searched through damaged homes as ambulances transported the injured to hospital and security forces cordoned off the area.

Israeli officials said the strike came hours after Israel launched a new wave of attacks on Tehran, following the reported killing of Iran’s supreme leader.

Iran retaliated with missile and drone fire, as the escalating conflict sent shockwaves through regional airspace, shipping routes and global energy markets.
