Thousands in mourning lined the streets of Tehran on Wednesday as funeral trucks, carrying coffins of Iranian top commanders and sailors, drove through the streets.

Large crowds turned up for the funeral of Ali Larijani, a senior adviser to Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other figures killed in U.S.-Israeli strikes three weeks ago.

Speaking at the funerals, Tehran residents said that Israel and the U.S. should pay for their actions.

Locals also burned Israeli and U.S. flags along with effigies of U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Tuesday night, condemning their ongoing attacks on Iran.
