Is the end of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in reach? | DW News

From DW News.

Following a US-brokered peace deal between Israel and Hamas, US President Donald Trump traveled to Israel where he addressed Israel’s parliament on Monday. Trump praised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s leadership and said the deal heralded "the dawn of a new Middle East." The US President then traveled to Egypt, where — together with the leaders of Egypt, Qatar and Turkey — he signed a deal aimed at ending the war in Gaza.
As part of the ceasefire deal, Hamas has freed all remaining living hostages held in Gaza, and Israel has released almost 2,000 detained Palestinians. Yet many key points of Trump’s peace plan are still being negotiated.
