The Israeli cabinet has signed off on a resumption of the ‘settlement of land title’ process to declare land in the occupied West Bank as Israeli territory, a move spearheaded by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich. Frozen since 1967, the process allows any Israeli settler with a claim to the land to submit documents to prove ownership. The move includes land internationally recognized as Palestinian territory and set aside for a future Palestinian state.
