Hundreds gathered outside the official Olympic snow park gates in Livigno to catch a glimpse of the snowboarding Big Air final as Japan’s Kira Kimura won the gold medal.

Ryoma Kimata of Japan earned the silver medal. Su Yiming, the defending Big Air champion, took the bronze under the night skies. Reuters reporter Lisa Richwine was on the ground in the Italian mountain town for the event.
