Jimmy Kimmel broke down in tears with a heartfelt tribute after announcing the death of his band leader and best friend Cleto Escobedo III. Kimmel and Escobedo have known each other since he was 9 and became inseparable. When Kimmel landed his late night show in 2002, he wanted Escobedo to lead the late night band. Escobedo has been absent from the show for several months. Published reports say that he died from complications after a liver transplant. He was 59.
