The Chilean far-right presidential candidate Johannes Kaiser promises pardons for police officers, calling them "the true defenders of human rights," during the closing event of his campaign in Providencia, a district of Santiago. The founder of the National Libertarian Party advocates a tough approach to fighting crime and illegal immigration, as well as ultra-liberal economic measures. The first round of the presidential elections in the country will take place on November 16.
