The House will vote Thursday, March 5, 2026 on a war powers resolution to halt President Donald Trump’s attack on Iran.

The White House with ally Israel launched the war on Feb. 28, striking the Iranian capital with a bombardment that killed the country’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and dozens of top Iranian officials. Trump administration officials have said the strikes were necessary to halt Iran’s ballistic missile and nuclear programs.

Trump has given the U.S. war effort a rating of "15" out of 10, though the White House has not taken the option of deploying ground troops fully off the table.
