From Global News.
Halifax was no exception to the major winter storm that hit many parts of the U.S. and Canada over the weekend. The weather caused dozens of flight cancellations and delays at Halifax Stanfield International Airport.
By mid-afternoon Monday, around two-thirds of flights were cancelled due to extreme weather. Passengers weren’t just impacted by the storm in Halifax, as heavy snowfall in Toronto caused flight delays travelling from Pearson Airport.
One airline passenger, John Denny Sylliboy, said, “We had a flight for 8:30 and that was cancelled last night and they couldn’t find anything for us at 6 o’clock this morning. So we found something at 10 o’clock this morning for 1:20 and that was delayed till 3:00. So we’re waiting for the 3 o’clock and hope to get to Toronto by 7:30.”
