A massive winter storm swept across large parts of North America on Sunday, bringing freezing temperatures, heavy snow, and ice that knocked out power to more than a million customers and grounded thousands of flights.

The chaotic conditions didn’t stop many from having fun in the snow.

From tobogganing to snowball fights, kids and adults alike found ways to enjoy the winter weather.

“We’ve been hearing all week about Snowpocalypse, everyone was worried about it but honestly we’re pretty excited” one Washington father said.

The ice and snowfall are expected to continue into Monday, followed by very low temperatures, which could cause “dangerous travel and infrastructure impacts” to linger for several days, the U.S. National Weather Service said.
