Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand says the government is looking at evacuating Canadians from West Asia, including asking the United Arab Emirates to allow charter flights through its airspace. Anand said more than 2,000 Canadians in the region had requested help to leave as of Wednesday morning, after unprovoked U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran triggered retaliatory missile and drone attacks across the Persian Gulf.
