Jamaica is bracing for the most violent storm in its history, as Hurricane Melissa bares down on the island. With winds over 250 km/h, Melissa has been upgraded to the highest level of hurricane, category 5. The hurricane is expected to make landfall early on Tuesday. Thousands of Jamaicans have been ordered to leave their homes and head to emergency shelters.
Authorities are warning of catastrophic flooding, landslides and extensive damage.
