The search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, mother of NBC Today Show anchor Savannah Guthrie, entered its ninth day on Monday. The second of two deadlines issued by the purported kidnappers of Guthrie has now lapsed, with little sign whoever is responsible is willing to release her.

Ransom notes demanding cryptocurrency are being treated as serious, with police seemingly following thin leads.
