From DW News.
A dispute has developed between SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and Sean Duffy, the U.S. Transportation Secretary and acting NASA administrator. Musk criticized Duffy on his social media platform X, calling him a “dummy” and accusing him of trying to harm NASA. The remarks came after Duffy announced that NASA would open competition for its upcoming Moon-landing mission to additional companies, citing delays with SpaceX’s progress. In 2021, SpaceX received a $2.9 billion contract to build the lunar lander for NASA’s Artemis program. Continued issues with the company’s Starship testing have led to questions about its ability to meet deadlines.
This video explains the situation, the key points of disagreement, and the implications for NASA’s return to the Moon.
