Musk criticized Duffy on his social media platform X, calling him a “dummy” and accusing him of trying to harm NASA. The remarks came after Duffy announced that NASA would open competition for its upcoming Moon-landing mission to additional companies, citing delays with SpaceX’s progress. In 2021, SpaceX received a $2.9 billion contract to build the lunar lander for NASA’s Artemis program.
