Officials say it was an “ambush-style” shooting on Wednesday that injured two members of the U.S. National Guard in Washington, D.C.

The suspect is a 29-year-old Afghan who entered the U.S. under the Biden administration’s “Operation Allies Welcome,” which was strictly reserved for those who worked with U.S. forces.

The New York Times and Fox News report that the suspect worked with the CIA.
