Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered new strikes on Gaza. His office described the attacks as ‘powerful’ and ‘immediate’ and said they are in response to what Israel called multiple ceasefire violations by Hamas. Earlier, sources said Israeli troops had come under anti-tank and sniper fire in the city of Rafah in southern Gaza. The IDF said that the attack was said to have left one Israeli soldier in critical condition.
