Only 29% of Albertans support independence, poll finds

From packed town halls to long lines for petition signings, the Alberta separatism movement appears to be gaining momentum.

A referendum on the issue could be triggered in 2026 if enough signatures are gained.

But as Heather Yourex-West explains, new polling shows the majority of Albertans would prefer to stay in Canada.
