Ottawa-Montreal chosen as start for high-speed rail route

From CBC News.

The exact route of the 200-kilometre Alto High-Speed Rail project hasn’t been finalized but it will connect Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City. Transport Minister Steven MacKinnon says trains could reach speeds of up to 300km/h — cutting travel time in half.

The project is slated to break ground in 2029.
