Dozens were killed and multiple injured after Pakistan carried out airstrikes in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province, according to the Taliban.

Villagers were seen searching through rubble and wreckage as excavators cleared destroyed homes and vehicles.

“This was a crime. Last night, it felt as if Judgment Day had passed over us,” said survivor Raees Khan.

Pakistan said it targeted militant camps along the border, while Kabul denied allowing fighters to operate from its territory and vowed an appropriate response.
