The mother of French sports journalist Christophe Gleizes, who was sentenced in early December in Algeria to seven years in prison on appeal, has sent a request for clemency to Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune: "It is the plea of a desperate mother," said Sylvie Godard, who was received in private by the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee.
