“People are looking for options”: Canadian immigration lawyers note uptick in relocation inquiries

Immigration lawyers say they’re seeing an influx in inquiries about relocating to Canada from the US because of ICE enforcement and temporary protected status ending for a series of countries the US now says it’s safe to go back to.

Immigration and refugee lawyer Alastair Clarke says he receives “calls almost every day from people in the United States looking to move to Canada," many from Minnesota and Venezuelans living in America. “There is a huge amount of stress, huge amount of anxiety right now and many people are looking for options," Clarke said.
