From Global News.
During a press conference on Thursday, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre doubled down on his comments that suggested that people involved in "scandals of the Trudeau era" should be jailed.
He originally made these comments in an interview with Northern Perspective last week, where he also called the RCMP leadership "despicable" and accused it of covering up for former prime minister Justin Trudeau.
Meanwhile, the RCMP commissioner spoke to Global News on Poilievre’s recent comments, saying his door was "always open" for a meeting.
Poilievre was referring to cases where Trudeau was found to have violated conflict of interest rules, including his acceptance of a family vacation on the Aga Khan’s private island in 2016, and the SNC-Lavalin saga in 2019.
