Vadym Voronov, a 48-year-old fitness coach from Pokrovsk, is rebuilding his life in Kyiv after leaving his city due to Russia’s war. Voronov said he deliberately avoids looking at images from what he calls his ‘past life.’ If given a choice between peace and Pokrovsk under Ukraine’s control, he said he would accept the city remaining under Russian occupation if it meant his loved ones would survive.
