During a visit to a church in Rome, Pope Leo XIV said he is "very concerned about what is happening in the world," speaking the day after US-Israeli strikes on Iran that triggered retaliation from Tehran.
During his weekly Angelus prayer the day before, the Pope called for an end to the "spiral of violence" in the Middle East, before it becomes an “irreparable chasm”.
