An incredibly powerful hurricane swept through Jamaica on Tuesday, leaving flooding and destruction in its wake. Hurricane Melissa was a Category 5 storm – and was reported to be the strongest storm ever to hit the island nation. Wind speeds were recorded at 185 miles per hour. Officials described the southwestern parish of St. Elizabeth as "underwater," leaving hundreds of thousands of people without power.
