Protesters gathered outside Hootsuite’s Vancouver headquarters Friday, urging the company to end a contract linked to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Organizers criticized ICE’s role in recent U.S. immigration enforcement actions and argued that providing communications tools still supports those operations.

The protest came amid heightened scrutiny of ICE following clashes at demonstrations in the United States that resulted in deaths in Minneapolis, MInn.

Organizers also pointed to the decision by the Jim Pattison Group to halt a proposed Virginia property sale tied to ICE as a sign public pressure is having an impact.
