Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that Moscow’s response to any strikes deep into Russia will be very "serious" and "overwhelming."

During a press conference, Putin also lamented that Trump cancelled a planned summit with the Russian leader, saying that he would like to continue dialogue about the war in Ukraine.

"Dialogue is always better than war," he added.
