Quebec windstorm downs trees, leaves thousands without power

From Global News.

Hundreds of thousands of people across Quebec were without power Tuesday, after much of the province was battered by strong winds.

At their peak, the outages affected more than 310,000 customers in Quebec after powerful gusts knocked down branches and damaged power lines.

Work is underway to restore power, but officials say for some customers it could be days before electricity is back online.

Phil Carpenter reports on the storm and Montreal’s response.
