Rep. Al Green removed from Trump’s State of the Union address over ‘apes’ protest sign | DW News

From DW News.

Democratic Congressman Al Green of Texas was escorted out of the House chamber during US President Trump’s State of the Union address for holding a sign reading ”BLACK PEOPLE AREN’T APES!” The protest came after Trump’s social media video depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as primates sparked widespread condemnation and was subsequently deleted. Green called the depiction ”deplorable and unacceptable,” marking the second year in a row he has been removed from the event.
