From Global News.
Nevada County authorities said on Saturday that rescue crews have recovered nine victims from the Castle Peak avalanche that swept over a group of skiers on Tuesday.
Crews carried out reconnaissance flights on Friday and completed avalanche mitigation before inserting search-and-rescue personnel. The last victim’s body was recovered at 10:58 a.m., Saturday.
The sheriff’s office also said it is conducting a parallel investigation into whether criminal negligence played a role, though no charges have been announced.
