Director’s Statement:
The power of science fiction is that it can give us a lens through which to think about current events. We were inspired to write Remote Control by looking at the world around us. The increasing prevalence of drone warfare, and growing hostilities over resource scarcity inspired us to tell a story that abstracted our reality to that of another planet in the distant future in which isolated groups of nomadic humans struggle to beg, borrow and steal enough basic resources from the huge corporations that dominate the globe and extract as much as they can. The world of New Arcadia gives us a rich backdrop for which we have many more stories planned.
