Senator John Kennedy and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem got into a heated exchange after Noem denied saying she did everything "at the direction of the president and [White House Deputy Chief of Staff] Stephen [Miller]" in the wake of the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis.

Kennedy said Noem’s words that he read were "on the record," while Noem claimed the quote came from "anonymous sources."
