Thousands of people gathered in Serbia’s second-largest city, Novi Sad, to mark one year since the railway station roof collapse that killed 16 people and sparked the country’s biggest protests in decades. Commemorations began at the station at 11.52am (10.52am GMT) – the time the tragedy occurred – with 16 minutes of silence held in memory of the 16 victims.
