Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez visited the an area of southern Spain hard hit by Storm Leonardo on Friday and warned that more storms will hit the country.
"Tough days are coming," he told reporters after flying over the flooded lands and meeting emergency workers on the ground.
Authorities in southern Spain have evacuated residential areas out of fear that a major river could overflow, and warned Friday that full aquifers could prompt landslides after Storm Leonardo swept over the Iberian Peninsula.
Over 7,000 people have been forced to leave their homes in the Andalusia region amid a so-called "storm train" in which several consecutive storms have pounded Portugal and Spain with torrential rains and strong winds over the past weeks.
State weather agency AEMET warned that another storm, Marta, would hit the peninsula on Saturday, bringing more abundant rainfall.
