The international Energy Agency has courted controversy in recent years. It published a ‘Roadmap to Net Zero 2050" report a couple of years back and drew fury from the fossil fuel industry who had previously regarded the IEA as essentially their puppet mouthpiece. In 2023 The IEA Executive Director even stated that there was no longer any need for any new fossil fuel investments. Then Donald Trump got elected and things changed. So, how has that affected this year’s World Energy Outlook report?
