Even if they don’t crash, athletes who participate in sliding sports like bobsled, luge and skeleton are at risk of injuring their brains. Sled head is a little-known phenomenon where sliding athletes sustain microconcussions thanks to the speed and relatively bouncy ride they take down the track.
