The use of U.S. troops to capture former Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro to stand trial in New York isn’t the first time the White House has invaded a Latin American country.

In 1989, under then-president George W. Bush, American soldiers ousted Gen. Manuel Noriega, Panama’s acting president, forcing him to flee the capital.
