Senate Majority Leader John Thune and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer spoke on the Senate floor on Day 29 of the government shutdown. Thune said he’s "hopeful" more Democrats will flip and support the GOP-backed measure to fund the government. Schumer called President Trump "a cold, heartless individual" after the administration said federal food aid will not go out on Nov. 1.
