From Global News.
A family in Pointe-Claire, Quebec, is speaking out after a sophisticated scam cost a father nearly $20,000.
The man says someone called pretending to be his son. The voice sounded so real, he believed it.
“It’s devastating. You feel stupid. You feel like you’re an idiot, I know the scam — the grandfather scam,” says Eric Sauvageau. He adds “But it totally sounded like Sam’s voice.”
Now, the family hopes sharing their story will warn others.
Global’s Felicia Parrillo reports.
