Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell says the Supreme Court hearing on the attempted ousting of Fed governor might be the institution’s most important legal case in history. "I would say that that case is perhaps the most important legal case in the Fed’s 113-year history," Powell says, responding to a question on why he attended the January 21 hearing on President Donald Trump’s effort to fire Fed governor Lisa Cook.
