U.S. President Donald Trump urged Australia to grant asylum to members of the Iranian women’s soccer team, saying they will most likely ‘be killed’ if they return to Iran. The players were labelled ‘wartime traitors’ for refusing to sing the Iranian national anthem prior to a match at the Women’s Asian Cup last week, soon after the U.S and Israel began their war on Iran.
