Trump: Republicans should vote to release Epstein files #shorts

From PBS NewsHour.

President Donald Trump is now calling on Republicans in Congress to vote to release the Epstein files.

The sudden reversal came after weeks of increased pressure to release the files related to the investigation of the late convicted sex offender, including from members of the president’s own party.

In a Sunday post on Truth Social, he said “House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide, and it’s time to move on from this Democrat Hoax perpetrated by Radical Left Lunatics in order to deflect from the Great Success of the Republican Party, including our recent Victory on the Democrat “Shutdown.”

The post follows another release by the House Oversight Committee last week of documents from Epstein’s estate. Trump was referenced in several emails highlighted by Democrats, including one where Epstein suggested that Trump “knew about the girls” he was trafficking. Trump has not been accused of any wrongdoing, but his relationship with Epstein has been under renewed scrutiny.

The vote on releasing all of the government’s files on Epstein, who died by suicide in 2019 while serving prison time for sex trafficking charges is expected as early as Tuesday. The bill would still have to go to the Senate. It’s unclear how quickly the files would be released if the votes go through.
